Alternate Takes

Alternate Takes celebrates fifteen years of BIRD on Thursday 24 September 2026 with a special anniversary edition. The event spans the entire BIRD building, including the Garden, Café, Boog3 and the main stage, presenting live shows, DJ sets, acoustic sessions and a selection of Rotterdam artists. It's a celebration of BIRD's history as a platform for emerging musical talent. Alternate Takes focuses on artists exploring the future of Black music, including jazz, hiphop, soul, funk, R&B and electronic genres. In collaboration with partners like Cult North and De Nieuwe Lichting, promising acts are presented. The event operates a 'Pay What You Can' ticket policy to ensure accessibility.
