Last updated: 24 May 2026

Where Terrivo gets photos

Terrivo displays photos from permitted sources only: photos taken by owners and the community (with rights confirmation at upload), DATAtourisme (Licence Ouverte 2.0), Wikimedia Commons (Creative Commons licences such as CC BY / CC BY-SA), and a small set of curated category placeholders. We do not use stock photos masquerading as real venues.

Attribution on share-cards & detail pages

When a photo comes from an external source with attribution metadata, the public spot page shows the photo credit and the share-card PNG includes a compact credit line (for example "Photo : Robin McKinney / Wikimedia Commons / CC BY-SA 4.0"). Photos from owners or the community do not carry a credit line unless they explicitly require one.

Photos we will not display

If an external photo lacks the licence, author, source page or rights window required by its licence, we do not display it as a hero image or include it in any share-card. Existing rows with incomplete metadata stay in our database but are simply withheld from publication until reviewed.

Rights holders — request a correction or removal

If you believe a photo, listing or other content on Terrivo infringes your rights or is inaccurate, please email info@outlandweb.com with: (1) the Terrivo URL where the content appears, (2) which photo/content you mean, (3) the reason for the request, and (4) proof of rights or representation when applicable. We respond within 7 working days and act faster on credible infringement claims.

No image is better than a risky image

If we cannot verify the rights of an image, we leave the spot without a photo rather than risk showing it. We would rather have a clean fallback than a legally risky picture.
